I've had to adjust a lot with my budget, and I've had help from my parents which has been needed.
Luckily, I live with my girlfriend and her kids. We are ok as far as money goes, but I could use a job.
Lately I have been working on winterizing the house. Insulating the garage, re-caulking window seals, insulating the water heater, stuff like that. It's not bad, I rather enjoy this type of stuff to keep me busy. I just wish there was more of it.
I bought some DVD/game racks, similar to the one below. The main difference is mine is straight and wall-mounted, but its about the same It works grea, each rack has 4 open areas that hold about 10 dvds/games each. We have a total of 6 of these things, half holding cds, the other half holding games/movies.
An Unemployed Graduate

My Situation
I graduated from an accredited university in the Summer of 2009. I wasn't at the top or bottom of my class, but I was average. Not bad considering I worked full-time and had an hour commute each way for classes.
I moved after graduation, and was able to find fairly decent employment. I was the Sales Manager for a hotel. It wasn't the greatest gig in the world, but it was alright. I was demoted and lost my job title, and was just like any other worker at the hotel. A few months later, I was promoted to General Manager. After working to get the hotel in better shape, keeping it maintained, I was told my position was no longer there.
The former GM-turned-supervisor was to be taking back over as GM of the hotel. I manage to keep my cool and leave. I get unemployment, a whopping $148/wk. I can manage with my bills with that, somehow.
Six months later, here I am. Still unemployed. I have been seeking employment fairly hardcore. I've been applying to an average of two places per day, but still have had no luck. I'm barely even getting interviews. I know I have a pretty great resume, as I have had it looked over by several HR friends of mine, and career services type people. Still, I have managed only two interviews in the whole 6 months.
Either I am overqualified due to my degree, or under qualified due to no experience in different fields other than the hospitality industry.
